"Win if you can, lose if you must, but never quit".
The winter swim season will begin on September 3 at the indoor pool with sign-ups and practice. Recruit your friends. Also there will be a Run4Jose event (see button below) and a memorial mass at St. Charles Catholic Church on November 15 at 6pm.
Morganton Swim Club is a team of all ages and abilities. We have swimmers as young as four and as old as eighteen. New swimmers should complete swim lessons through Morganton Rec or come to the pool during team practice hours and let one of our coaches make sure your swimmer is ready for the team. We prefer a new swimmer to be able to do freestyle and one other stroke and swim across the pool. From there, your swimmer will just get better and better.
We are fortunate to have three amazing coaches: They all have many years of their own swimming experience as well as coaching MSC for many, many years.

When and Where
Morganton Swim Club practices at the Morganton Aquatic Center indoor pool from September through March and at the Collett Street Pool in the summer. Our practice times are Monday through Thursday from 6:15-7:30 pm. Your swimmer can swim all year or winter or summer, but we recommend trying to swim as often as you can through the year to keep your swimmer's skills sharp and to stay in shape. We compete at various competitions throughout the year. We do not pressure you to be there every night. We realize that our swimmers play other sports and that they have tests and school work that is a priority. Come to practice as often as you can throughout the week but you will not be pressured.
What Does it Cost?
Feel free to try out the swim team for a week or two before joining, once your swimmer knows he or she wants to join. Monthly fees per swimmer are $15. There is also a Aquatic Center membership fee through the Aquatic Center. It is prorated throughout the year and there are monthly or yearly options and also individual and family options. You will have to see the staff at the Aquatic Center and get a membership. If your swimmer is interested in competing through the year, he/she will need to join USA Swimming. USA Swimming keeps track of your swimmers times and events and has many benefits. USA Swimming dues are $70 per swimmer and there are discounts for students who receive free and reduced lunch. You do NOT need to compete and join USA swimming to join the swim team but if your swimmer is ready and wants to compete, you will need to join USA Swimming. We are available to help answer and questions and to guide you.
Your swimmer should have a one-piece bathing suit, towel, and goggles. Our team does order racing suits once a year but this is not required. For meets, your swimmer should have a swim cap.
